- Providing technical advices to the California DMV for the regulations that govern the testing and public operation of automated road vehicles that do not require continuous monitoring by the driver
- Developed modeling and simulation tools to assess realistic traffic impacts of adaptive cruise control (ACC) and cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC)
- Developed user requirements and concept of operations for a cooperative adaptive cruise control system for heavy trucks
- Led project to develop and evaluate three mobility enhancing applications of connected vehicle technology
